If you’ve ever heard the song “Under the Sea” from Disney’s Little Mermaid, one of the lyrics says, “We got no trouble, life is the bubbles, under the sea.” That was the exact approach we took when planning and coordinating this gala. We wanted our client and their guests to feel transformed into an underwater world where they could have fun and leave their troubles above land. Real seashells and coral were scattered among tables covered in linens that resembled water. Flowers and plants submerged in water added life, texture, and height. Each table was slightly different, which wowed the guests and encouraged them to mingle around the room. Overall, the client was thrilled, the guests had a fantastic evening, and fundraising records were exceeded. Life really is better under the water!
